India on Thursday, 3 June, reported 1,34,154 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally in the country to 2,84,41,986. The death toll increased by 2,887 to 3,37,989.

According to the Union Health Ministry data, there are currently 17,13,413 active cases across the country, while 2,63,90,584 patients have been discharged so far, with 2,11,499 discharges reported in the last 24 hours.

1.34 Lakh New COVID Cases, 2,887 Deaths in India; Tally at 2.84 Cr

India on Thursday reported 1,34,154 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally in the country to 2,84,41,986. The death toll increased by 2,887 to 3,37,989.

According to the Union Health Ministry data, there are currently 17,13,413 active cases across the country, while 2,63,90,584 patients have been discharged so far, with 2,11,499 discharges reported in the last 24 hours.

21.59 Lakh Samples Tested for COVID on Wednesday: ICMR

As many as 35,37,82,648 samples have been tested for COVID-19 in the country till 2 June, of which 21,59,873 samples were tested on Wednesday, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.

Serum Institute Applies to DCGI for Permission to Manufacture Sputnik V: Reports

The Serum Instiute of India, which makes the Covishield vaccine, has applied to the Drug Controller General of India (DCGI) seeking permission to manufacture Russia's COVID-19 vaccine Sputnik V, sources were cited as saying by PTI on Thursday.
