The number of coronavirus cases in India rose by 15,968 to 4,56,183, in what was the biggest one-day spike. According to the Union Health Ministry data, there are now 1,83,022 active cases in the country, while 2,58,684 patients have been cured or discharged. The death toll currently stands at 14,476.

Delhi deputy CM Manish sisodia said he wrote to Home Minister Amit shah to do away with the mandatory clinical assessment rule for Delhi COVID-19 patients.
“I had requested Lt Governor to change the rule under which every #COVID patient is required to visit a quarantine centre for assessment. It has been 2 days, I haven't received any reply. This new system has created pressure on administration,” he said, as quoted by ANI.
“Today I have written to Union Home Minister Amit Shah requesting him to do away with this system as it will create chaos,” he added.
Indo Tibetan border police (ITBP) today took over the COVID Care Centre at Radha Soami Beas Chattarpur, New Delhi as Nodal Agency to operate. The Home Ministry had yesterday nominated ITBP as nodal agency to provide the doctors and team of other professionals to this centre as requested by the Delhi government.
Many teams of the ITBP including medical and administration visited the Radhaswami Ashram today and held series of discussions with the stakeholders.
It is expected that a 2,000 bed facility will be operational at the Centre from 26 June, 2020. The total bed capacity may go upto 10,200. This will be the largest single Covid Care Centre in the Capital and the country.

Kerala on Wednesday reported the highest single-day spike of 152 new COVID-19 cases, taking the state's tally to 3,603. This is the sixth consecutive day that Kerala has recorded over 100 cases, CM Pinarayi Vijayan said, according to ANI.
"Of the 152 new COVID-19 positive cases reported today, 98 have returned from abroad and 46 from other states. Out of the total cases reported in the state, 90 percent are those who returned from outside the state," Vijayan said.

Karnataka on Wednesday reported 397 new COVID-19 cases and 14 deaths, taking the tally in the state to 10,118 and the death toll to 164.
Tamil Nadu on Wednesday reported 2,865 new coronavirus cases in what was the biggest one-day spike, taking the tally to 67,468. As many as 33 fatalities were also recorded on Wednesday, taking the death toll to 866.
Maharashtra on Wednesday reported 3,890 new cases of COVID-19 and 208 fatalities, taking the tally in the state to 1,42,900 and the death toll to 6,739.
