The number of coronavirus cases in the country rose to 24,942 on Saturday, 25 April, with the tally including 18,953 active cases, 779 deaths, 5,209 cured or discharged patients and one migrated patient, according to the Health Ministry figures.
Meanwhile, the Delhi government has agreed to implement the Home Ministry's order on opening of shops amid lockdown, PTI reported on Saturday, citing officials. Late on Friday, the Centre had issued guidelines on the opening of certain shops, while asserting the need to follow social distancing.
A higher degree of relaxation was given to shops in rural areas, as compared to those in urban areas.

A day after soaring by 128, the coronavirus infection registered another sharp rise by 138 cases, raising the total number of the positive cases in the national capital to 2,514 on Friday, revealed the Delhi Government’s daily health bulletin.
The day also saw three COVID-19 deaths, one more than what it suffered on Thursday, taking the total number of corona casualties in the capital to 53, the bulletin revealed.
Of the total 53 fatalities reported till date, 29 of the deceased were aged 60 or above, accounting for over 54 percent of the total COVID-19 deaths in the capital, said officials.
Fourteen of them were aged between 50-59 and 10 were aged less than 50 years, they added.
By Thursday night, the number of cases of the deadly virus in the city stood at 2,376 including 50 deaths.
In a major development, the US Food and Drug Administration has approved the first at-home COVID-19 test kit, which is expected to bring coronavirus testing to the doorsteps of every household.
The first at-home test kit has been developed by LabCorp, a US company which has a network of medical laboratories across the country. It costs USD 119 in the United States.
This is a test where under certain circumstances with doctor supervision, a test can be mailed to a patient, and the patient can perform the self-swab and then mail it back and get the results after that time all under the guidance of a licensed physician, FDA Commissioner Stephen M Hahn told reporters at a White House news conference.
Nine CRPF personnel on Friday, 24 April, tested positive for coronavirus in Delhi, officials were quoted by PTI as saying.
The nine who tested COVID-19 positive include seven constables, a head constable and a sub-inspector rank officer, the officials said.

Two Chinese pharma companies, which supplied 5.5 lakh rapid testing kits for COVID-19 to India, said they are ready to cooperate with Indian agencies looking into allegations of poor accuracy of their products.

A 57-year-old police constable who had been diagnosed with COVID-19 passed away at a private hospital in Mumbai on Saturday, officials were quoted by PTI as saying.
This is the first known case of a police personnel dying due to coronavirus infection in Maharashtra. The constable was attached to a police station in the western suburbs and lived in Worli Naka area in south Mumbai.
A total of 96 police personnel, including 15 officers, have contracted coronavirus infection in Maharashtra so far, officials had said earlier in the day.
As many as 281 new cases and 12 deaths were reported in Mumbai on Saturday, taking the number of cases in the city to 4,870. A total of 762 patients have been discharged till now. The death toll in the city stands at 191.
The Home Ministry on Saturday said the bodies of Indian nationals and OCI cardholders, who died abroad due to COVID-19, can be brought back, but with strict adherence to relevant guidelines, PTI reported.
