A criminal complaint was filed, on Saturday, against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a court in Delhi. The complaint has alleged him of misleading the people of Delhi by stating that municipal corporations are not under the AAP government’s control.

In November 2015, I filed an RTI with Delhi government which, in its reply, said that the corporations are under its control. Action should be initiated against him for misleading people and spending public money for spreading lies.

This, however, comes as a surprise, as municipal authorities claim that the strike has been called off by most employees of the civic bodies. After the Delhi HC heard the PIL for calling off the strike, only the sanitation workers are refusing to end their stir, as they seek a “permanent solution” for their grievances from the court.

We have gone on strike for the fourth time in one year because the corporations, because of their financial crises, have failed to pay our salaries and dues. We will urge the court for a permanent solution to our grievances.
Rajendra Mewati, General Secretary of United Front of MCD Employees.
