The CBI on Friday, 7 February, carried out searches at the premises of IAS officer Udit Prakash Rai in connection with the arrest of Gopal Krishna Madhav, OSD to Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, in a bribery case, officials said.

Over a dozen more officers of the Delhi government are also under the agency's scanner in the case, they said. Sources said the agency has not found Sisodia's involvement in the case so far.

Sisodia had earlier said he has no issue with the timing of the arrest of an officer working with him on charges of taking bribe.

The CBI on Thursday, 6 February, arrested a Delhi government officer understood to be the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Sisodia in an alleged bribery case of Rs 2 lakh, officials said.

“I got to know that an officer who is posted at GST & has been an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) with me for 5 years has been arrested for taking a bribe of Rs 2 lakhs. What CBI did is right, strictest action should be taken to set an example,” ANI quoted Sisodia as saying.

“I have no issues with the timing of arrest, whoever takes bribe should be caught immediately. We have zero tolerance for corruption.”
