Brother’s Tweet to Sushma Swaraj Saves Sister From UAE Traffickers
Dev Tamboli’s sister was held captive in UAE when she flew there to become an air-hostess.

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s active presence on Twitter has saved another Indian life on foreign land.
Dev Tamboli’s 33-year-old sister went to UAE, with an ambition of becoming an air-hostess, on August 14.
She was held captive by UAE’s notorious network of human traffickers, known to be ruthless.
Tamboli, a resident of Qatar, tweeted to Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj asking for help on August 22.
Sushma Swaraj replied to the tweet promptly, informing the distraught brother that the Indian Ambassador in UAE has been informed and will get in touch with him.
Ambassador TP Seetharam then got in touch with Dev Tamboli and an investigation was launched by the Dubai CID.
By the evening of the same day, Sushma Swaraj tweeted the good news Tamboli had been waiting for.
Earlier this month, the minister also promised to bring back Gita, the deaf and mute Indian woman stuck in Pakistan for more than a decade after Pakistani human rights activist Ansar Burney’s tweet about her.
