Passengers from two coaches of the Akal Takht Express were evacuated at Amethi, UP, early on the morning of 10 August, after a low-intensity explosive was found on the Amritsar-bound train.
“A low intensity device was found, it has been deactivated and train has left for its destination,” said Saumitra Yadav, SP GRP.
A letter was also found along with the object on the Amritsar-bound train warning of retaliation after the killing of top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) militant Abu Dujana in Jammu and Kashmir. Dujana, who was killed in an encounter with security forces in Pulwama on 1 August, was a A+++ category militant with a bounty of Rs 15 lakh on his head.
Details awaited.
