Usha Sinha, a former ruling Janata Dal-United legislator and the wife of Bihar School Examination Board’s (BSEB) former chairman Lalkeshwar Prasad Singh, who is now on the run, is in trouble because of her educational degree.
Officials on Monday claimed that her degrees are fake.
1. Usha Sinha earned a Master’s degree when she was only 15. In fact, she managed to finish her two-year degree in 1976, from a University which had only opened in 1975.
2. Her affidavit says she completed her class 10 and 12 from the UP board in 1969 and 1971 respectively. This would mean she was eight when she completed her matriculation, and only 10 when she finished her intermediate.
3. She further stated that she got her BA and BEd degrees from Gorakhpur University in 1973 and 1974 respectively. Again, a rather incredible achievement for a girl all of 12 or 13.
4. Sinha, however, did not stop there. She apparently went on to complete her PhD from Magadh University in Bodh Gaya at the age of 23.
Usha Sinha’s role in the toppers scam is also in question. The SIT is keen to interrogate her as non-FIR accused in the case. Currently, she is working in the Hindi department of the College of Commerce in Patna, but has been missing along with her husband since the toppers scam broke out.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Bihar Police will conduct searches at various places to arrest her husband, one of the key accused in the Class 12 toppers scam.
