Joint raid conducted by DM and SP, on Wednesday in Siwan jail in Bihar in connection with the murder of 45-year-old journalist of Hindi daily Hindustan–Rajdev Ranjan. He had been writing for a long time against law-breakers in the area.
Two knives and eight mobiles were recovered from Siwan jail where RJD strongman and four-time MP Mohammad Shahabuddin is lodged, India Today reported. Four of Shahabuddin’s visitors have been detained.
Another journalist Akhilesh Pratap Singh was gunned down near the panchayat secretariat in Chatra, Jharkhand on Thursday night.
The killings have triggered a series of protests across Bihar and Jharkhand by the media.
