Kailash Nath Sonkar and Triveni Ram from the Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP) have been issued a show-cause notice on charges of cross-voting in favour of the SP-Congress backed BSP nominee.

The notice was issued to SBSP members a day after the BJP registered a victory in the Rajya Sabha elections against the joint opposition. SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar confirmed the development to Times of India and said, "Both of them will be expelled from the party if charges were found to be true," Rajbhar told Times of India on 24 March.
