Tollywood actor Ravi Teja’s brother, Bharath Raju, was killed on Saturday night, after his speeding car was involved in a road accident.
According to the police, Bharath was driving his Skoda car at a high speed on the Outer Ring Road near Kotwalguda in Shamshabad Mandal, when it crashed into the back of a stationary lorry standing on the side of the road. Police said that although there was space for a car to pass beside the lorry, the speeding car ploughed into the back of the lorry.
Although police arrived within 5-6 minutes of the accident taking place, Bharath had reportedly passed away by then. Due to the extensive damage to the car, it took the police nearly 45 minutes to extract Bharat’s body from the wreckage.
His body was then shifted to the Osmania General Hospital for a post-mortem.
“We are yet to find out whether he was under the influence of alcohol or not. But he was speeding, which led to his death,” Inspector M Mahesh of the RGI Airport police station told TNM.
The Inspector also said that any further details would only be available after the post-mortem and further investigations are completed.
45-year-old Bharath Raju, the younger brother of Ravi Teja, is an actor in Tollywood himself. He has appeared in numerous Telugu films including Aa Mugguru and Jump Jilani.
