One more accused has been arrested in connection with the robbery by armed assailants at Corporation Bank in Delhi's Khaira on Friday, 12 October, ANI reported.

Six armed robbers barged into a bank in Delhi on Friday, 12 October, afternoon looting Rs 3 lakh and killing the cashier.

All six suspects have been identified with two being arrested so far. Investigations are underway to nab the rest.

CCTV footage shows the robbers with their faces masked by helmets or cloth and cornering the people in the bank. One of them snatches the rifle from the security guard and starts beating him up. They then shoot at the bank cashier and escape with the loot.

According to senior police officers, the heist took place within seven minutes between 3.30pm and 3.37pm at Khaira village in Chhawla, reported Hindustan Times. Police received a PCR call at 3.45pm reporting gunshots fired inside a Corporation Bank.

However, by the time the cops reached, the robbers had fled the scene.

A cop told Hindustan Times that initial inquiry revealed that four armed men had entered the bank around 3.30pm and overpowered the guard while two men stood guard outside with two motorcycles.

The robbers held 16 people, including 10 customers and 6 staff members, hostage at gunpoint, reported NDTV. They had tried to snatch the money from the cashier but when he resisted, they shot him with two bullets.

The cashier was identified as 45-year-old Santosh Kumar.

Deputy commissioner of police (Dwarka) Anto Alphonse told, “The robbery has been captured in a CCTV camera inside the bank as well as other cameras in the vicinity. We are trying to identify the robbers. Kumar’s family has been informed and the post mortem examination is being conducted. A case of robbery and murder has been registered at Chhawla police station.”
