Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s iconic blue WagonR car, which was stolen on 12 October from near the Secretariat in Delhi, has been recovered from Ghaziabad.
While the car had been used by Kejriwal extensively in the last few years, of late, it was used by AAP youth leader Vandana.
According to sources, Vandana parked the car near the Secretariat at 11:45 am. However, when she came out at 2:30 pm, the car was not there. The CCTV recording shows that the car exited the Secretariat complex around 1 pm.
The blue WagonR, which was the Delhi Chief Minister’s loyal ride – beginning from the days of the dharnas (protests) to his first stint as Chief Minister in January 2014 – had been an invaluable resource for Kejriwal, helping him underline his ‘Aam Aadmi’ credentials.
The car was donated by United Kingdom-based NRI Kundan Sharma in January 2013. However, in April 2015, Sharma wanted it back. The NRI had made it clear through a volley of tweets that he was not happy with the rift in AAP at the time.
