India and Pakistan exchanged heavy artillery fire at the Tanghdhar sector near the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir after a ceasefire violation by Pakistan killed an army jawan and two Pakistani soldiers were killed in retaliatory fire by India on Tuesday, 30 July, reported NDTV.
34-year-old Naik Krishan Lal, a resident of Ghagriya village in Akhnoorarmy was killed in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the Line of Control (LoC) in Sunderbani sector, in Rajouri.
According to the Army sources, two Pakistani soldiers were also killed in the retaliatory action by the Indian Army in Tangdhar-Keran sector.
He added, “Heavy damage to Pakistan Army posts and casualties to Pakistan soldiers have been inflicted by our troops.”
Army sources told ANI that ceasefire violations had been taking place since morning at multiple locations along Line of Control (LoC) including Uri, Tangdhar, Keran and Sunderbani. They added that the Indian Army was retaliating and targeting suspected terrorist launch pads and new positions which are being built on Pakistan’s side of LoC.
