Around 40 armed people raided Delhi Public School in Asansol, Bengal last night. The school is situated on National Highway (NH2) in Asansol.

They raided the Principal’s office, ransacked the school premises and damaged eight buses as well. They threatened the security guard deployed on duty and went on rampage for almost an hour.

According to reports, nobody was hurt, but students and their guardians have gathered outside the school premises to express concerns over the security of the school.

Salanpur Police, in Asansol, have started an investigation into the motive of the incident.

We have started investigation into the case. No written complain has been filed by the school authority. The incident occurred at night, around midnight. The police was informed in the morning at 10 am.

The Principal of the school, Bidisha Chatterjee has termed the incident “unfortunate.”
