Apna Dal, which had threatened to walk out of the alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party, will fight the Lok Sabha elections with the BJP and contest two seats from Uttar Pradesh.

On Friday, 15 March, ANI reported that the Apna Dal-BJP alliance was back on track.

Apna Dal Had Threatened to Walk Out of Alliance

It appears the ruling party has been able to placate the Apna Dal after reports of cracks in their alliance surfaced as recently as 21 February.

Apna Dal had expressed disappointment with the Uttar Pradesh BJP and the Yogi Adityanath-led government in the state.

A final decision was to be taken by the end of February as the Apna Dal national president Ashish Patel told ANI last month, "We are a part of NDA. We had some issues with Uttar Pradesh BJP, which we had raised in front of the central leadership. However, no action has been taken in that regard.”

Currently, Apna Dal has two MPs and seven MLAs in Uttar Pradesh.
