Anthrax Kills Three in Odisha: Report

Three deaths have been reported due to Anthrax in Odisha’s Koraput district, Medical officers rushed to ground zero.

In the last one week, three have died and another six are said to have been hospitalised owing to exposure to anthrax in Koraput district of Odisha.

Jabri Kulesika, Sandra Manding and Bali Manding have been identified as the deceased.

The matter has been reported to Laxmipur PHC as the number of people affected by the disease started to increase, reports the Express News Service. The affected persons were admitted to the district headquarters hospital after a medical team was sent to the village.

Medicines were distributed among the villagers by medical officers from nearby districts and six affected persons were shifted to Koraput and Laxmipur hospitals by medical officers.

Arun Padhi the ADMO, Public Health in Koraput made a statement saying that doctors were camping in the village and condition of the affected persons was stable.
