Kheer is the repertoire of culinary champions – or so you thought. This post gives  you a simple way to prepare the sweet milk-and-vermicelli pudding – just in time for Eid ul Fitr or meethi Eid.

1. Heat ghee, and add to it cardamom pods, or elaichi, and cloves. After the ghee’s aroma fills up your kitchen, just add the sevaiyan/vermicelli (available in any kiryana store for Rs. 30 ) and roast them till they are brown.

2. Pour milk into the pan and let it boil till it is very thick.

3. Add sugar to the pan and let it simmer for 5-7 minutes, and afterwards, add the raisins and almonds, for additional richness.

4. That’s it. Your meethi kheer is ready. If you are feeling rich, add some cashews too.
