Eggs were thrown at BJP President Amit Shah’s convoy in Gujarat on Monday, while it was passing through Junagadh’s Keshod, as NDTV reported.

The eggs were hurled by the loyalists of the Patidar agitation around 11:30 pm, slowing the cars down as they made their way to Somnath where Shah is expected to join Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a rally.

Last year when the agitation began, the agitators were lathicharged. Hardik Patel, the leader of the agitation, was also attacked in the lathicharge. The Patidars believe that it was Amit Shah who was behind the attack.

Earlier, Amit Shah had gone to a Patidar event in Surat, wherein he wanted to send a message that they (BJP) are with the Patidars. However, the agitators created such a pandemonium at the event that Shah had to leave his speech midway and flee the venue.
