• On Thursday, the Uttar Pradesh government had filed a status report on the investigation into the incident, where a mother and her daughter were gangraped by bandits in the morning of 30 July.
  
  
• The Allahabad High Court had sought a status report of the investigation from the state government on a PIL seeking a direction for a CBI probe into the case.
