AAP Leader Kumar Vishwas’s Anti-Drug Song Goes Viral

The song, written and performed by Kumar Vishwas, was released earlier in May. The video has now gone viral.

Aam Aadmi Party’s National Executive, Kumar Vishwas released an anti-drug song Ek Nasha...Nashei ke Khilaaf on 8 May at Sirifort auditorium in New Delhi.

Vishwas, also a poet, wrote and performed the lyrics in the video. The song mentions the word ‘badal’, in an assumed indirect reference to Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal.

Proceeds from the album would be donated to a social organisation working for the rehabilitation of families affected by drug abuse.

Kumar Vishwas described his album in the following manner:

I am a poet, and this campaign is arising out of my concerns for society in general and Punjab in particular, which once was the biggest contributor to sports, films and other fields. It is now losing a generation to drugs. Badals need to explain that how during the rule of a party, which claims to be ‘panthic’ and championing the cause of Sikhism, could allow drugs to spread tentacles when ‘nasha’ is prohibited in Sikhism.

Arvind Kejriwal commented on the song and said:

You see poets like Vishwas tell things through clues. And, you see what clues he has left in the video.

The video has close to 40 thousand likes and 7,400 shares on Facebook.
