If you were a good samaritan and waited patiently in bank lines for that good ol’ (new) legal tender, the Bharatiya Janata Party has a reward for you. In a bid to make the long wait easier on the public, the Delhi BJP has announced its plans to “reward” people by giving them a ladoo.
Manoj Tiwari, the newly appointed BJP chief, confirmed the initiative.
Twitterati however, were only amused and not convinced by BJP’s ‘appeasement-by-ladoos’ tactic. Some even wondered if in this digital age, the ladoos would also be on the NaMo app. Here are some of the best quips.
On their part, the Aam Admi Party also stepped forward to help those hit by demonetisation. Food kiosks were set up at around 10 different places in Delhi.
There have also been previous reports of individuals and organisations volunteering to distribute water, tea and food to those waiting in long bank and ATM queues.
