The Supreme Court’s landmark judgment on Aadhaar has left netizens divided – is it mandatory? Is it not? What happens to data already stored? The majority judgment struck down the linking of mobile numbers and bank accounts to Aadhaar, but it will still be required to get a PAN card and to file I-T returns – but hey, private companies can’t insist on Aadhaar cards now.

Ultimately, the Supreme Court’s verdict left Tweeple confused. People took to the social media platform to question if the mandatory linking of PAN to Aadhaar made it indirectly mandatory for a few other things.
