An Imphal NGO called the Big Sisters’ League Manipur has picked a 14-year-old boy to represent the entire north-eastern region at the 70th United Nation General Assembly (UNGA). 10 other children from the rest of the country have also been selected.

Konkham Lamjingkhomba, son of visually impaired Gangarani (who lost her husband in a firing incident few years ago), will be addressing the UNGA to shun violence, as violence affects lots of innocent children like him.

Local organisations have been helping his family over the years by providing rations, financial aid and free education for the two brothers.
