A 63-year-old man from Delhi was arrested on Monday, 30 July, for allegedly committing burglaries to splurge on his “five girlfriends”, The Hindu reported.

The accused, a resident of Anand Parbat, was arrested from the same area after the police received information regarding a burglary on Saturday, 28 July, at Anand Parbat Industrial Area.

The police acted on the tip-off the following day. Further investigation unveiled that the accused was a permanent resident of Delhi's Mangolpuri area. He had, however, according to Hindustan Times, moved away from his family in Mangolpuri years ago to live separately. The women he is involved with are all aged between 28 and 40 years, police told HT.

The complainant, Jagdish Kumar, alleged that the accused stole many electronic items from his factory.

At 9 am, when his factory employees opened the main gate, they found certain articles including electronic items stolen.

The accused was seen stealing the valuables in a CCTV footage from the factory by the police, they told The Hindu. They further found that at least three other robberies in the same area were carried out by the same man.

Two laptops, a smart TV, Rs 60,000 cash and documents were found stolen from the factory. An FIR was registered at Sarai Rohilla police station. A CCTV installed at the factory captured the image of the burglar.
