A 17-year-old girl, in Sanpura village of Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, was allegedly killed by a group of seven men for attending school beyond matriculation, reported ANI.
The matter came to light on the evening of 31 March, when the victim's brother lodged an FIR at Motipur police station alleging his sister’s murder on Friday, and also complained that he and his wife had been held hostages for several hours in their own house.
Speaking to ANI, SSP Manoj Kumar, Muzzafarpur, told ANI, "A girl has died under suspicious circumstances. The victim's family, along with their neighbours, has already cremated the body. The FIR filed mentions some serious accusations based on which we have arrested three people. The evidence was tampered with, and so, we have taken action based on the FIR, but the story narrated in the FIR makes it worthy of a serious investigation."
He added, "The deputy SP is leading the investigation team to get to the root of the incident and the truth will come out soon."
