- The CRPF personnel who belonged to 109 Battalion Echo Company was on duty, guarding the Raj Bhavan when the blast happened.
- The blast occurred hours after militants opened fire in Assam’s Kokrajhar district, leaving 13 civilians and more than 20 injured.
