A US woman got the shock of her life when she found parts of a dead body inside a used freezer that she bought from from her neighbour’s garage sale.

The woman, from North Carolina, bought the freezer for $30 and said that she suspects the body belonged to her neighbour’s elderly mother.

“I have a serious problem. My neighbour sold me a deep freezer. I just opened it and there’s a body in there I think. I am freaking out” the woman told 911 after her discovery.

The woman said that after her purchase, she did not immediately open the freezer because the neighbour told her it was being used as a “time capsule”.

The seller of the freezer claimed it was part of a class project she was doing with her church Sunday School class. Police confirmed that human remains were found. The woman said:

A church was supposed to come and pick up the items inside the freezer. I was supposed to get the freezer back. The church never came. I decided to open it.

Female “Psycho”?

The woman said that the mother had lived with her daughter for years but had not been since September 2015. The seller has left town since the day of the sale.

The buyer added:

She sold me her frozen mother for $30. How do you do something like that? She was just the sweetest lady. Just unbelievable how she could just stick her mom in a freezer.

Goldsboro police is investigating the incident as a felony for concealing or failing to notify the death of a person.
