A tribal woman, around 19-20 years of age, was allegedly gangraped in Kushmandi area of South Dinajpur in West Bengal on 17 February, reports ANI. A passerby spotted her lying unconscious near a bridge in the village, with her intestine spilling out of her private parts on the afternoon of 18 February, reported Hindustan Times.
According to the police she was raped by two men and metal objects were inserted in her private parts. The South Dinajpur SP also confirmed that the accused have been arrested.
As per medical SP, Amit Kumar Dawn, the victim was brutally assaulted. She has undergone a couple of surgeries by a team of specialised doctors and has responded well to the same.
According to Hindustan Times, the woman is a resident of Dehaband was allegedly attacked on her way back from a Shivratri fair on 17 February.
