A 19-year-old girl was allegedly raped in a moving minibus by its driver on Thursday morning at Sulibele in Hoskote in Bengaluru Rural District
The teenager is an employee at a nursing home and boarded the empty bus to reach her workplace, police said.
A cleaner was driving while the bus driver allegedly raped the girl before dropping her at a deserted place.
The police has detained both of them and a case has been registered under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (Punishment for rape).
The investigation is on as the police has seized the bus and the girl has undergone a medical test.
Commenting on the recurrence of incidents with commuting women, Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said the government would not tolerate such incidents.
The incident occurred in the wake of the alleged gangrape of a 22-year-old BPO employee in a van in October.
