Sheena Murder: Polygraph For Peter, Mukerjeas’ Employees Speak

In the Sheena Bora murder case, Sheena Bora’s step-father and former media baron Peter Mukerjea was put through a polygraph test after being held in custody for almost a week by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
60-year-old Mukerjea was questioned by the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) on November 28, Saturday.
While Indrani Mukerjea, Sheena’s mother; Sanjeev Khanna, Indrani’s former husband; and Shyam Rai, Indrani Mukerjea’s driver remain in CBI custody, the revelations by others involved in the murder case have given it many twists and turns.
Peter Undergoes Polygraph Test as CBI Sniffs ‘Deception’
After Peter Mukerjea’s polygraph test, CBI sources said several questions about the crime, his conversations with his wife Indrani Mukerjea and his own statements were put to him during the test by CBI officials at the Central Forensic Science Laboratory.
They said there were some questions where there were indications of “deception”.
CBI has subjected Mukerjea to intense questioning since November 19 when he was taken into custody.
CBI sources claimed that, on many accounts, his answers were purportedly not convincing and changing which prompted CBI to put him to polygraph test.
Driver’s Confession
According to investigating officer of the Mumbai Police, Dinesh Kadam, Shyam Rai has confessed to have kidnapped Sheena Bora and then burnt her body with Indrani Mukerjea and Sanjeev Khanna.
Rai, who was detained on August 21, had tried to flee when a police patrol car approached him.
A countrymade pistol with three live cartridges were found in his possession. Rai had no licence for the weapons. He was arrested under the Arms Act.
House Help’s Role
Peter Mukerjea and Indrani Mukerjea’s house help, Pradeep Waghmare, has revealed that Indrani asked him to sign Sheena Bora’s resignation letter in 2012, reports CNN-IBN.
According to Waghmare, fear of Indrani kept him from speaking about it.
He also smuggled drugs from Kolkata in 2014 on Indrani’s request who cautioned him about cops. He was asked to throw away the drugs if the cops spotted him.
As if this wasn’t enough, he also claims to have been aware of the fact that Sheena and Mikhail were Indrani’s biological children.
Indrani’s Secretary Forged Sheena’s Signature
The report says Indrani’s secretary Kajal Sharma told the CBI that she had created fake email IDs and also forged Sheena’s signatures on Indrani’s instructions, according to CNN-IBN.
Sharma told the investigators that she used those email IDs to abruptly cancel Sheena’s rent agreement and also send in her resignation letter. Sharma claims that Indrani told her that Sheena was in the US and did not have access to internet.
Sharma has also claimed to have set up a Skype account for Indrani’s driver Shyam Rai a month before Sheena’s murder.
The secretary claims that Indrani and Shyam Rai communicated through Skype and other colleagues were not allowed in the room whenever they did.
She also claimed to have paid Rs 1.25 lakh to Rai on Indrani’s instructions.
Revelations of Peter’s Ex-Wife
Peter Mukerjea’s ex-wife Shabnam Singh spoke to CNN-IBN and confirmed that Sheena and Rahul were engaged in 2011 in Dehradun. Singh denied that Sheena was ever pregnant or had an abortion.
Singh also said that Rahul had contacted her after Sheena went missing, hinting that Indrani might have had a role to play in her disappearance.
She added that Rahul told her about Indrani’s claim that Sheena was in the US while her passport was with Rahul. When questioned about it, Indrani allegedly told Rahul that she got another passport made for Sheena.
Further, Shabnam added that she went to Mumbai to register a police complaint along with Rahul, but the police did not show any interest.
