In the latest development in the Sheena Bora murder case, the CBI special court has sent judicial requests to USA, Singapore and Hong Kong.
On 13 April, CBI approached a Mumbai special court with an application to issue Letters Rogatory in connection with the murder case. Former media baron Peter Mukerjea and his wife, Indrani Mukerjea, are the primary accused in the case.
The LRs will be sent through diplomatic channels to judicial authorities in Singapore, Hong Kong and the USA, with requests to provide information.
The CBI is investigating money as possible motive behind the murder of Sheena Bora, Indrani’s daughter from a previous marriage.
The body said that it has sought Interpol’s help for access to the Mukerjeas’ overseas bank accounts.
