In an effort to provide uninterrupted Internet connection to rail users, the Indian Railways will soon launch free Wi-FI services at seven more stations, including Allahabad and Sealdah.
Railways currently provides the service at 11 stations: Mumbai Central, Vijayawada and Jaipur among others. “We will provide free Wi-Fi service in association with Google,” a senior Railway Ministry official said. The stations include Pune, Ernakulum, Lucknow, Ujjain and Gorakhpur.
Travellers passing through these stations will now be able to easily stream a high definition video while they are waiting. “Our target is to provide the facility at 100 major stations in the current year,” the official said.
