A suspected Pakistani spy was investigated by intelligence sleuths in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan on 19 August.
According to Gaurav Yadav, Superintendent of Police, Nandlal Maharaj had drawn maps of the border areas and clicked photographs. He is suspected to be part of a big espionage network.
Maharaj was spotted in one of the 350 villages along the Jaisalmer border. These are out of bounds for foreigners and even Indians need special permission to enter this zone.
Villagers claimed that Maharaj was offering money in exchange for information on secure and high security areas.
Jaisalmer borders Pakistan and is 560 km from state capital Jaipur.
