The youngest convict in the December 16 gangrape case has been released. The victim Jyoti Singh’s parents led a candelight vigil in New Delhi’s Jantar Mantar along with the many others who came in their support.

The parents of Nirbhaya, as she is referred to even now, have protested the release of the youngest convict who was tried as a juvenile since he was below 18 years of age at the time of the crime. The parents have even said that if he has to be released, his name and face must be made public so that the people know who he is.

The parents took the vigil demanding justice for their daughter and immediate passage of the Juvenile Justice Act in Parliament.

We will take our battle for justice across India to awaken governments and law-makers.
