Naxals partially damaged the building of Barhat block office in Bihar’s Jamui district, by exploding a can bomb in the early hours of Monday, a police official said.
The main door, gate and a pillar of the block office building were damaged while cracks appeared on some of the walls.
Barhat police officials and Deputy Commandant of 131 company posted at the block headquarters reached the incident site and took stock of the situation. The official added a dog squad had been brought for a search operation.
Naxals had given a call for two-day Bihar bandh from Monday to protest against the death of Chirag, who was a Naxal’s special area committee in-charge.
Chirag was killed in an encounter with police on 30 January 2016. Naxals have shown their protest by damaging the block headquarters, the official said.
