Tainted ex-IPL chief Lalit Modi’s lawyer has allegedly got death threats from Ravi Pujari. The India-based gangster who is believed to be living in Australia now, has asked Mehmood Abdi to stop fighting Modi’s case.
Oshiwara Police has received a written complaint from Abdi on Sunday. In the complaint, he has asked for police security in the wake of these threats.
Abdi mentions in his letter that Pujari said he was calling from Australia and asked why he was fighting Modi’s case.
Pujari threatened to eliminate me or harm my family if I don’t follow his instructions.
— Mohammed Abdi, Lalit Modi’s lawyer.
Oshiwara police is investigating the case. Lalit Modi meanwhile has tweeted about his lawyer receiving threat calls and also posted a sample of Abdi’s written complaint.
