A suicide bomber killed five people in an attack in Kabul on Monday, 25 December, Afghan officials said.
Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack, on its news agency Amaq, Reuters reported.
An interior ministry spokesperson said the bomber blew himself up near an intelligence service office, killing five people and wounding two. The victims included women who were in a vehicle passing near the attack site.
No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack, but recent attacks in the capital have been claimed both by Taliban insurgents and Islamic State's group fighters who have stepped up their attacks against Afghan security forces.
