JD(U) MLA’s Husband Re-Arrested 24 Hours After Escape From Jail
The husband of JD(U) MLA, Bima Bharti, has been re-arrested, two days after escaping from the Maranga police station.

Escaped convict Awadhesh Mandal has been re-arrested by the Bihar police. He was arrested from the Bhagalpur district of Bihar two days after being freed by mobsters from the Maranga police station in Purnia. Mandal already faces several criminal charges, including murder.
The station-in-charge, Shivshankar Kumar, has been suspended. A showcause notice has also been issued to the station officer for ‘laxity’ in security.
Asked to comment on the presence of an MLA and MP during the escape, Bihar Police SSP Nishant Kumar Tiwari said the Sub Divisional Police Officer of Banmakhi, Kundan Kumar, will investigate into the matter.
