Indian Space Research Organisation’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle will launch six Singapore satellites from Sriharikota on December 16. The six satellites latched on to the Polar Satellite Vehicle Launcher-29 or PSLV-C29, are scheduled to lift off from the space-port at 6pm on Wednesday.

The 59-hour-countdown for the of PSLV-C29/TeLEOS-1 Mission began at 7am yesterday and was progressing normally, ISRO said.

ISRO said the filling of propellant in PS4 stage (fourth stage) was completed yesterday. The six satellites will be launched into a 550 km circular orbit inclined at 15 degrees to the equator.

The PSLV will be on its 32nd flight in ‘core-alone’ configuration without the use of solid strap-on motors.

Of the six satellites being launched, TeLEOS-1 is the primary satellite weighing 400 kilograms while the other five include two micro-satellites and three nano-satellites.

TeLEOS-1 is the first Singapore commercial earth observation satellite. It will be launched into a low Earth orbit for “remote sensing” applications.
