India is awaiting Pakistan’s response, for a visit by an National Investigating Agency (NIA) team, to review progress of the Pathankot investigation. Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar met with Pakistan Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry on 26 April, to discuss the same.
The NIA said it would like to visit Pakistan to carry forward the investigation on the attack.
A Pakistani Joint Investigation Team (JIT) visited India in March in connection with the probe in the Pathankot terror attack, perpetrated by the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM). The NIA Director General had said the interaction with JIT was held in accordance with terms of reference mutually agreed on.
