The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which is already probing the murder of rationalist Narendra Dabholkar, will now be asked to probe Govind Pansare’s murder by the Maharashtra Government, Govind Pansare’s family lawyer told the Bombay High Court on Thursday.
Earlier, Pansare and Dabholkar’s family members had decided to approach the Goa High Court to monitor the probe and fast track the case.
The Indian Express, on Wednesday, reported the CBI had found that the bike and weapon used to murder rationalists Govind Pansare and Narendra Dabholkar were the same.
The CBI had reportedly plans to approach Scotland Yard in order to verify whether the same weapon was used to kill three rationalists – Narendra Dabholkar, Govind Pansare and MM Kalburgi.
CBI believes that the two murders were carried out in the similar fashion by bike-borne gunmen.
