The accused in the hit-and-run case near Delhi Civil Lines was sent to two days police custody on Monday.
A juvenile at the time of the incident, the accused turned 18, days after Sidharth Sharma was killed.
He was charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Police had said that the charges also took into consideration his past record of negligent driving.

The 32-year-old marketing consultant succumbed to his injuries at the hospital last Monday.
Delhi Police on Friday arrested the juvenile’s father, an Old Delhi-based businessman, under Sections 109/304 (abetment to culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of IPC.
The last time Delhi police booked someone under culpable homicide in such a matter was in the Sanjeev Nanda BMW case 17 years ago, a senior police official said.
