One Dead, Three Wounded in Blast at Chandni Chowk’s Naya Bazar

An explosion was reported near Delhi's Naya Bazar area in Chandni Chowk on Tuesday morning.

At least one person has been killed and three injured. According to ANI, the anti-terror wing and senior police officials rushed to the spot.

The cause of the blast is not known yet. However, CNN-News18 reported that the explosion was caused due to a cylinder blast.

First impression makes it seem like a firecracker explosion in a jute bag.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who is in Bahrain, telephoned the Delhi Police Commissioner to take stock of the situation in Delhi.

Verma briefed him about the incident and the steps were being taken in this regard, official sources said.

The Home Minister instructed the Delhi Police Commissioner to arrest those involved in the incident and take all possible measures to ensure peace in the city.
