CBI Asked to Give Seized Docs From Secretariat Raid to HC & AAP

The next hearing is due to take place on January 29.

The Delhi High Court directed the CBI on Monday to supply the court and the AAP government with photocopies of the documents seized by the agency during raids at the office of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s principal secretary Rajendra Kumar.

CBI officials raided the Delhi Secretariat on December 2015, alleging they were investigating corruption charges against Rajendra Kumar.

The court said the documents were required as it wanted to examine their relevance to establish whether the original papers can be retained by the CBI or not.

Till the next hearing, which is due to take place on January 29, the original documents are to stay with the CBI.

<p>Whatever documents you (CBI) have seized, you have to give one set of photocopies of all those to the court and the counsel for Delhi government. I am not aware of the contents of the documents. You get me one set of documents.</p>

The High Court’s direction came as the CBI filed a plea seeking a stay on a trial court order which asked the probe agency to release the seized documents to the Delhi government, saying it needed them as the investigation was on.
