A ruckus broke out at Shahi Imam of Jama Masjid Syed Ahmed
Bukhari’s press conference in Lucknow. Bukhari’s security guards reportedly
heckled a journalist when he asked him a question on Uttar Pradesh.
The Imam has now issued an apology. Naved Siddiqui, the journalist who was heckled, said that he had “asked Bukhari how much popularity he enjoys among the clerics in Uttar Pradesh after which the security guards started pulling me away.”
The Shahi Imam said he “will look into the matter and I apologize on behalf of anyone who did this.”
