BJP MP Anant Kumar Hegde has stirred yet another controversy by allegedly making anti-Islam statements.
Hegde, in a press conference, allegedly made a remark that nobody can eradicate terrorism in the world as long as Islam exists.
The press conference took place on Monday in Sirsi, Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka.
According to DNA, the Youth Congress district unit has filed a police complaint against Hegde for making ‘blasphemous and insulting remarks’ against Islam and Muslims.
Dakshina Kannada Kazi Twaka Ahmed Musliyar also urged the state government to take action against Hegde for his “anti-Islam rhetoric” at the press meet.
Meanwhile, state Health Minister U T Khader requested Home Minister G Parameshwara to take suo motu action against Hegde for his “shocking and irresponsible” statement.
