Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has written an open letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of upcoming Railway Budget.

He started the letter saying that the Indian Railways has not yet delivered ‘Achhe din’. Targeting Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, who is going to present the third Railway budget, he wrote that Prabhu must be acutely aware of ground reality.

Contrary to media hype, the RJD chief wrote that there is a growing sense of despair and gloom all around the country. Comparing Railways to a ‘Jersey Cow’, he said that since the government has neither milked nor taken care of it, the cow (railways) has fallen sick.

It is still not too late, he added, Railways has a huge untapped potential.

Lalu claims that if Modi’s government corrects its course by reversing anti-poor policies, the ‘Jersey cow’ can be restored back to sound health
