Afghanistan has proposed moving the Indian consulate in Jalalabad to a relatively more secure area but India will take a final decision after it sends a team to the area, according to The Economic Times. The Indian consulate has witnessed several terror attacks, including one last week.
The report says the governor of Nangrahar province of Afghanistan, Salim Khan Kunduzi, proposed the shifting of the consulate during a meeting with Indian ambassador Manpreet Vohra last week. The consulate is currently located at ‘Ilaka No 2 in Habibabad’ of Jalalabad.
