A student leader of a Meerut college has announced a reward of Rs 21,000 to anyone who cuts off the tongue of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Asaduddin Owaisi.
Dushyant Tomar, a former president of the students union in a Meerut college, burnt an effigy of Owaisi in that city on Monday, and offered the reward.
Tomar said he was angered by AIMIM leader’s statement in a rally in Maharashtra that he will not say Bharat mata ki jai.
Tomar was president of the student union in 2014-15 and was made a member of the state executive of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad–a Bharatiya Janata Party-affiliated student body.
He also demanded that Owaisi be stripped of his Lok Sabha membership.
A public interest litigation has been filed in Lucknow on Tuesday over Owaisi’s statement.
